Tis the Season

Well, Thanksgiving is over and now we all have to get ready for Christmas and the Holiday Season! Let's see, Christmas is on its way and it is the most expensive holiday of them all due to the commercialization of buying gifts. Where are we as a society: The Economy is close to being the worst it has ever been, unemployment is at an all time high, the automotive industry is a disaster, there is scandal after scandal, foreclosure rates are through the roof and more people this year are without a home and/or a job.

Have we truly forgotten what Christmas is all about? Do our children know the true meaning of Christmas or is it all about getting gifts? I honestly believe that people have forgotten about what the Holidays are all about - what the SPIRIT of Christmas truly means. Instead of being all nestled up in your comfy home, get out there and Donate money and time. The Salvation Army is always looking for donations and people to help them. If you do not worry about money like my wife and I than you should Donate. I don't care if it is your spare change at McDonald's going to the Ronald McDonald House or donations to good causes such as the United Way Campaign annually. Do something to help our country out. Not only will you feel good about doing it but it will come back to you tenfold!

So this holiday season do not just walk by the bell ringers and the donation requests, stop and help out the less fortunate in our country and give the best gifts of all, a SMILE and a kind word! They both take so little time or effort yet go a long way to brighten someone's day who may be having a rough time right now!
